Bonjour 2015 !
Puis, nous irons présenter ‘Me talking to myself in the Future’ à Toronto, au Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.

Nous sommes présentement en résidence à Troy, NY au Centre Empac, à développer notre nouveau spectacle TRIESTE This website has been far too neglected! We will be back here soon, more active, in another way. For now, we are enjoying our residency in Troy, NY at the EMPAC Center, where we develop our next production, TRIESTE

MOI QUI ME PARLE À MOI-MÊME DANS LE FUTUR, Marie Brassard, Alexandre St Onge et Jonathan Parant

“Marie Brassard Moi qui me parle à moi-même dans le futur is possibly her best solo yet. I was completely mesmerized for the duration of this poetic performance piece (…) Brassard’s use of space, images, words, music and technology (all in collaboration with musicians Alexandre St-Onge and Jonathan Parent), is exceptionally fluent. She’s a great director. But it’s her arresting stage presence and remarkable voice at the centre of it all that make this show a must-see-at-least-twice.” Pat Donelly , The Gazette, Montreal 30/05/2011
Maud Cucchi, Le Droit, Ottawa 8/12/2010
“Who wouldn’t like to listen to a story that begins in a Coconut-Bar-Motel in Trois-Rivières, on the St-Lawrence River in Québec? (…) This is exactly where Brassard’s observations lead us: Which parts of me do really exist? Which parts only exist in a dream state? How can you lose control over your thoughts? And what distinguishes one from the other? Jonathan Parant and Alexandre St-Onge on their laptops allow us to enter deep into these worlds of observation, which blend together like in a song and never take us back to the Coconut-Bar.” Standard/Kultur, Vienne 22/05/2010

ME TALKING TO MYSELF IN THE FUTURE, Marie Brassard, Alexandre St Onge and Jonathan Parant
Desire, pleasure, love, pain, drugs, fear, night and day dreams excite my imagination and shift my consciousness and the world exposes itself to me, naked, and what was hidden from my view is once more revealed. Time ceases to appear linear and I find myself there, in a circular landscape, an infinite plane, there, alone unprotected. Here I am, I who struggle to remember my own name as the outline that separates me from the surrounding set becomes fluid and permeable. I think: fragility is a strength and I allow the wind to blow through me. The color of my identity transforms itself like the skin of a chameleon and there is nothing wrong with that. I wonder… the fragility of the night that always surrenders to the day, is that a weakness?
I will die. I am sure of that. Nothing else seems important or even real. And, drawing on the poetry of fictional things, I sketch out the imaginary reality of my life. The wind, the sky, the rain, the blood of people and the essence of things, friendship, love and music, all these will endure long after I am gone. And at the thought that my traces will be erased, something spits itself out of me: poetry perhaps, absence of meaning or excess of meaning; that’s the same.
I invent it and it does exist until it gets broken, then, created again.

This autumn, we will be in Ottawa, at the Théâtre Français du Centre National des Arts, from December 8th till 12th:
Then, in Berlin at the Sophiensaele, on December 16th, 17th and 18th:
Along the sea, a field of red poppies leads to an odd forest. Morpheus himself escapes in dreams and a surreal landscape spreads out, where the barriers of chronology dissolve. In the future, a dying old lady drifts among the thoughts of a woman in the present. As they are slowly bleeding to death, the child they both once were invents a world overhung by a yellow sky where wild rabbits are chasing each other around. From the origins of the world, to tales of childhood and altered states induced by morphine, Me talking to myself in the future is a poetical and musical piece reflecting upon time and death.

Daviel’s Blog-Arts et Culture-Montréal: MARIE BRASSARD is probably one of Quebec’s most renowned artists, who gained recognition after spending several years touring with another famous Quebec artist from the theatre world, Robert Lepage. She ended up founding her own company, INFRAROUGE, which also produces her shockingly beautiful performances. Brassard’s work is quite abstract, and she clearly doesn’t focus on narratives; her work goes well beyond simple theatre. She dismantles the rules of playwriting, demonstrating that she’s been influenced by dance, literature and music. She puts all of these elements together onstage, often in a novel, provocative fashion. One could easily say that Marie Brassard is one of the most interesting avant-garde artists in the Montreal cultural scene today…. la suite ici: www.tourisme-montreal.org/Blogs/Arts-And-Culture/Experience-the-Intensity-of-Marie-Brassard
